A concentrated blood product prepared from plasma. PRONUNCIATION: CRY-oh-pre-SIP-ah-tate. Cryoprecipitate contains several important clotting factors. But, in the trauma patient, "cryo" is chiefly given to replace fibrinogen. Frequent, repeat doses may be necessary.
