A closed, internal, degloving injury where subcutaneous tissues are torn away from the underlying fascia or muscles, but the skin surface remains intact. Also known as M-L or Morel lesions. PRONUNCIATION: mor-EL la-va-LEE, or la VAL ee. No one seems to agree!
