A cord injury in which there is no associated bony or ligamentous injury noted on plain radiographs or CT scan. Most common in young children. PRONUNCIATION: SKEE-wor-ah or SEE-wor-ah. It's an ACRONYM; there is no CORRECT pronunciation. Also known as SCIWNA: Spinal cord injury without neuroimaging abnormality.
