A subjective assessment of a given function or parameter. For example, qualitative measures of blood pressure include mental status, skin signs, and urine output. These findings cannot be given a number, but we can evaluate whether they are good, bad, getting better, or getting worse. PRONUNCIATION: qua-li-TA-tive.
